All Creatures Animal Clinic Jasper

UPDATED REVIEW: I took my dog (to a different vet) on 7/10/26 to have her bloodwork ran. It came back normal. The final conclusion is that she had complications due to being in heat. I asked multiple times if her being in heat would increase any type of risks, and I was told no by Dr. Barker’s staff each time. Please do your own research about spaying a dog in heat. It’s sad that you aren’t able to listen to the “professionals” in this situation. There are MANY risks, one being excessive bleeding, which is exactly what happened to my dog. A veterinarian with 44 alleged years of experience that doesn’t know (or doesn’t care) about risks of spaying a dog in heat is NOT somebody I would trust my pet with. I took my female GSD mix, 1.5 years old, UTD on all vaccines and preventions, no previous health issues on Tuesday (07/07/2026) for a spay. She was in heat, and I called to let them know beforehand, asked about risks, was told there was not any. I let them know again at drop off, asked about risks, and was told once again that there is not any. I picked her up that afternoon and never had any sort of interaction with Dr. Barker through out the experience thus far, and she was not sent home with any kind of medication for her post-spay care. The technician that brought her out to me said “We think she was in heat.” I said, “I know she was, and I let you guys know multiple times beforehand…” They didn’t respond. I paid and we headed home. She starts gushing blood from her incision site before I even got her in the door, collapsing in the mud in my yard. I took her back, and Dr. Barker suggested she stay overnight so they can “watch” her. This left me under the impression she would be monitored throughout the night. She wasn’t. She was left alone and when I picked her up on Wednesday morning, she was completely drenched in pee from laying in it all night, and was urinating blood in the lobby. After a back and forth with Dr. Barker over what could’ve went wrong, he has stood firm on the fact he did not do anything wrong during her spay, and concluded she must have some sort of “clotting disorder”. Had there been a suspected clotting disorder, I should have been notified immediately and she should not have been sent home from her spay with no medications. The spay should not have even been continued if there was a suspected clotting disorder. Overall, the experience was unprofessional and I will never go back.

We were a walk in and had done tried to be seen at two other vets they took us without hesitation and was so very kind. I will not use another vet and would recommend them to anyone.

This vet has taken care of my friends dog. He was caring, concerned and willing to work with her. I must say I'm very impressed with both the Vet and the staff. They saved her fur baby after being badly attacked.

Best vet in town!
